The Key To Abiding
I was going on a walk today with my mom and son down a dry dusty road beside a canal. We came upon a woman walking her dog. As we made small talk (she goes to mom’s church) Holy Spirit told me she felt lost in her purpose and thought her dreams had died.
He let me speak…His words of hope. As she stood there with her mouth open, Holy Spirit had me share that her dreams were not dead. She still had a purpose. It was time for a repair and restore process before the harvest in her dreams. I love that…how God can speak and leave people in tears because of HIS kindness and words of life.
This is coming to you from Wenatchee, Washington! Spending time with mom and having my 16 year old son come along is a treat while my husband works on a custom cabinet job!
I just spent two of the days of our trip in the Mountains of Washington with my big brother Mike. He lives in a small-cabin like place where I have had ample time to drink my tea and think about this third step to the soul health process: Abiding!
Ready?
If you have been reading any of my writings the past five years you will hear the word ABIDE a lot.
It’s the final key Holy Spirit said to the repair and restore process of soul health to truly walk in the capacity He has structured in your very DNA to walk out that dream, that vision, that purpose bubbling up from your inside!
From surrender to pruning (last week) to abiding, this is a Holy Spirit set up for your upgrade as you move forward in faith with declarations!
As you may remember this all came out of God instruction for me from Amos 9:11 NLT:
“In that day I will restore the fallen house[a] of David.
I will repair its damaged walls.
From the ruins I will rebuild it
and restore its former glory.
This stems from my own personal struggles from my health to the worries that were tackling me and taking me down for the count.
As I’ve nestled deep down the rows of the Vineyard these past few months, my soul has been revived listening to God speak through His Word and Holy Spirit.
I want this for you…
Because I’ve written (two devotionals and many posts) about keys to abiding, I have asked God for some different revelation on it…Something that can only come from the OVERFLOW of being in relationship with Him.
BAM.
I was reading Psalm 3 in the Passion Translation, I started to form a new picture of abiding based on the wisdom of God.
I don’t expect you to be able to read my chicken scratch writing..(I barely can read my own writing hence I process on the keys of my Mac or my Logitech keys blue toothed to my iPhone.)
So, if you can go to Proverbs 3 in the Passion. (Bible Gateway app on a smart phone), and get a pen and paper so you too can write some of these keys to abiding.
It’s all centered on the wisdom of God! So, you abide by seeking humbly His wisdom through adoration of Him, passionate love, and you come into the true sweet spot of abiding with these amazing God given fruit from wisdom:
(No specific order…just reading from my notes)
Living hope
No terror
Tools for understanding
Sweet place of wisdom bringing promotion
Prosper in every way
Strength inside and out
Correction and discipline (direction)
Greater than Gold
Satisfaction because nothing can compare
Health-Healing tree of life
Untold blessings
I think you get the idea. Make a diagram yourself and allow the Holy Spirit speak to you about the treasure of abiding while walking in HIS Wisdom.
Prophetic Word
God says:
“Now is the time for my lovers of Me to arise from the pit, the ash heap, the uphill climbs, the places of stress where dreams have been dead. Arise my much loved daughters, my much loved sons.
“This is a time of unlocking to releasing you into the hidden places of my Presence only to come out on the other side with healing. Worry, stress and fear is no longer going to constrict you from going forward. My abiding Presence in you is like a huge wave…and I’ve given you the surfboards in iife to ride that wave without falling and with pure joy and exhilaration.
“So walk on in surrender as you allow my Hands to gently prune away parts of your flesh (soul) as I position you for fruit. Out of the abiding in MY Presence…face to face….comes the hidden storehouse of wisdom for you to impact your own family and others. I have declared this as a breakthrough time on the inside of you to truly walk where I have called you to in a healthy way. Your dreaming with ME is not dead……”
So walk on my friend. Stay hidden in His Presence. Your obedience to His ways is beautiful worship to His heart. Truly, there is joy in the healing, peace in the valleys and assurance that Jesus is enough.
