Rest To Run In 2021
This year’s word: Rest To Run in 2021, has come from my own working out in my heart and soul with one of the most challenging years.
I can honestly say much of this word has come from my own restlessness during the days and weeks of so much upheaval. In addition to the pandemic, the violence in the streets, and the election…
I’ve even experienced my own trauma to the back drop of the chaos.
From falling headlong down the stairs in January to the very smashes on my heart in my personal life, I know how real the stress and worries can knock you out in the inner world.
Pieces of this word gave me much hope and insight as God continued to add layers to what it means to truly abide..Where there is no striving but abiding in Him.
when I say rest I’m not talking about vegging out and laying down in a vineyard of sour grapes and withering vines…It’s an active rest that starts here:
You..being intentional to deal with the weeds…..with the idea of rest you may have to face honestly your restlessness, your fears, your feelings of hopelessness…your complaints..your weariness, your doubts.
It’s okay to face the ache or angst that lies deep in your heart. Gold gave us emotions…and feelings…We can be like David in the Psalms and lay it all out in the open.
I believe to understand true rest we have to not hide from all these emotions and setbacks..So often I know I can stuff what I feel…You know…sucking it up. Stuffing emotions down will do no good. It only provides fertile soil for the wrong kind of fruits…FEAR, ENVY, IMPATIENCE, DOUBTS, PROCRASTINATION…UNBELIEF…And it can lead to comparison jail…You go on Instaperfectgram and feel very imperfect and incomplete and hopeless… I’ve been there friend.
Bring that to the surface….and then allow HIS Presence to rise and cover those unfulfilled expectations…
Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” When we are weighed down by the burden of oppression in this world, Jesus invites us to lay our burdens down and rest in Him.
The framework. Of this Rest To Run in 2021 lies with Sarah…and Abraham…Who amidst the huge promise from God had real emotions like you.
Here is the key verse in Hebrews 11:11 tpt
“Sarah’s faith embraced God’s miracle power to conceive even though she was barren and was past the age of childbearing, for the authority of her faith rested in the One who made the promise, and she tapped into his faithfulness.”
Two places for you to set up camp and rest…..
- Embrace God’s miracle working power amidst the “even though”…
Even though your facing real hard times right now, even though your family looks like it’s in shambles…even though your finances have been hit like the titanic hit the ice…YOU REST BY…EMBRACING BY FAITH GOD’S MIRACLE WORKING POWER2 THEN YOU rise up in the authority of your faith that is RESTING in the one who made the promises..You get to rest in the authority which comes from your identity…You know who you are and more importantly whose you are…you know His promises are yes and amen…and you rest rest..knowing such truths…rehearsing such truths
“Every promise from the faithful God is pure and proves to be true. He is a wrap-around shield of protection for all his lovers who run to hide in him.”Proverbs 30:5 TPT
Rest in HIS promises…get out some note cards and start writing down His promises..
And then run. The run is when you tap into His faithfulness with declarations. Once you get the rest down, it’s a set up to run!!
Running involves declarations powered by the prophetic…powered by the One who made the promises….
“Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God and you will be secure, feasting on his faithfulness.”Psalms 37:3 TPT
“As a result of this, he has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises you can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world.”2 Peter 1:4 TPT
