How Perseverance Turns Into Resilience.
Perseverance is the muscle of your faith..
As I saddled up to my mic for this podcast much was on my mind about perseverance and resilience to continue to walk out your voice with all the issues we are facing.
We still have to deal with the Chinese Virus…Deal with whether or not to get the ‘stick”…Deal with what is in the news…Waiting for a change.
The definition of perseverance:
continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition : the action or condition or an instance of persevering : STEADFASTNESS.
And then resilience. Check these definitions first.
Resilient….able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions.
To do or achieve something….able to withstand….or recover quickly…
As i say this…I so desire this to be a declaration over you…
That you would persevere in your resilience to walk in faith…to trust God with the process…
I read something so powerful in regards to this from a YouVersion devotional based on the book Suffer Strong: A PlanFor REdefining Everything.
One paragraph stopped me in my tracks….in how we can persevere and then actually breed the resilience we need as we face a truama, face a death to a dream, or maybe face family issues that seem to never appear to be resolved….
“What if we could see celebration as a form of worship—a necessary, life-giving acknowledgment of God’s goodness? When we are surrendered to the great Author of our stories, our worship doesn’t depend on the happy ending. We no longer celebrate desired outcomes. Now we celebrate God’s provision, power, and presence in the process. We’re not minimizing the pain, but we are making much of the Healer. We can joyfully rebel against fear when we gather together, put out the fine china, and feast in good faith that the famine won’t last forever.”

So my thoughts shifted…and I hope this isn’t just information but that the Holy Spirit can light these words up for you for transformation…Transformation in the thought that your perseverance and your resilience can by fueled by a source that is true, reliable and trustworthy…in your abiding in the Vine, in Jesus.
I wrote in my journal…often where the thoughts to these podcasts originate…So..agian
“What if we could see celebration as a form of worship—a necessary, life-giving acknowledgment of God’s goodness? ”
Celebrate as a form of worship. That helps me….as I realize a truth: Toxicity from your past and even now…may never go away but it can be reconstructed…by the renewing of your mind….
And renewing means you can say …. It’s ok if I feel discomfort and emotional, it means my brain is changing.
Then my worship does not depend on a happy ending or how I want things to change. I simply worship Him for His Presence…that I can run and hide in Him as I drink my coffee with the word and worship in my AirPod.
This is my safe place….where out of it comes resilience….where the muscle of perseverance is build as I stretch my faith…believe in the promises of God…rest that those promises are yes and amen…and then walk each day tapping in to His faithfulness with my declarations…
It’s a place… a worship lifestyle… Where I can take my questions, heart breaks, painful memories and lay them down
….I will choose to feast at His table of provision and love. I will rise and be the much needed salt to those who have lost their appetite for a loving meal at the Father’s Table.
“Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.”
Colossians 3:2 TPT
So… You can be resilient today and be the shift in the atmosphere to impact your home, your family, your state, your region. This is a no strive place friend. It’s being…
Again let’s look at Check these definitions first.
Resilient….able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions.
Behind resilience is a healthy soul who brings your mind, will and emotions to inner unity with the spirit of the living God inside of you.
Good news.
You can be this and one of the best steps right now to be resilient is to renew your mind.
I realize when you hear…Renew my mind..yes but what does that really mean.
For me I have been diligent to follow a leader…dr Caroline Leaf with a Nuerocycle that includes five steps i go through each day. I’ll leave a link in the notes to the book where you can find the link.
One thing hit me: I am not going to let the toxic thought control me
I will work and face the memories and the facts of today and continue to reconstruct.
Some issues may never away…but that does not leave you in a pit unable to have an abundant life.
Being resilient and walking in perseverance give you a foot hold..
Some thoughts that came to me as my mind I have had many a wrestling match this past year.
“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17 NKJV
So can a perfect God handle an imperfect world that has these nasty viruses and issues hitting innocent people?
Yes. His love is perfected in you. Think on that. You may be one of the main keys as you pray, speak, worship, and declare LIFE and HEALING.
Which brings this key on how to be resilient:
It’s 1 John 4:4…right above where we got that last verse:
“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
If those two verses are not enough solid ways to walk resilient and be a part of the solution amidst the fears trying to do a slam down choke hold in areas of the world, follow me into the verses after verse 4.
“They belong to this world and they articulate the spirit of this world, and the world listens to them. But we belong to God, and whoever truly knows God listens to us. Those who refuse to listen to us do not belong to God. That is how we can know the difference between the spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit.” TPT
… in a way, this is war….with Jesus securing the victory on the cross to the tomb to rising again.
So I speak this to you You are the the shift in the atmosphere just by standing strong and resilient in your faith. And persevere…strengthen that muscle of faith.
What is the best thing for you to do in this battle?
Worship. Stay alert with the Word. Declare it friend. Speak it out into the atmosphere. Pray.
Check this quote again from Katheryn and Jay wolf which has helped me:
“When we fail to speak in God’s language of what can actually be good, beautiful, beneficial, and bright, we will miss the treasures to be found in the depths of loss, trauma, failure, and limitations. When we believe good and hard are diametrically opposed, we are robbed of experiencing the dynamic fullness of the good/hard life.
“Even when our circumstances remain the same, so much can change when we choose to redefine the core metrics that shape our experience in the world. We can’t redefine our way out of the hard stuff, but can decide to reframe the inevitable valleys as an opportunity to see from a different perspective and a chance to blaze a trail into a new kind of freedom.” (Suffer Strong available on Amazon by clicking here)
So…worship while you wait…Greater is HE in you…the key to your resilience and perseverance…
So friend..say no to striving and yes to abiding…so you can live in the sweet spot of your divine destiny.
