Defeating Depression
Let’s talk about defeating depression. Yes..the rah rah for your voice in me wants to get real with you!
Do you feel so slammed by this pandemic wave that you feel this sinking feeling?
⠀
Depression.
⠀
Amidst all my rah rah about your voice, let’s get real. Our emotions are real and they can lead us to a pit that we feel we can’t get out of, no matter how hard we try.
⠀
I understand.
⠀
This verse leaped out as I was fighting (worshipping) off sad issues that wanted to body slam me down.
⠀
The verse:
⠀
“Come quickly, Lord, and answer me, for my depression deepens. Don’t turn away from me, or I will die. Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.”
Psalms 143:7-8 NLT
⠀
.I have this soft place in my heart. I don’t want to be cold or be callused in my emotions.
How do I keep my heart sensitive and not fall headfirst into a deep well of depression?
⠀
I can only find one place. That place of surrender where like a trapeze artist I throw my heart over the bar…I throw my heart into the Hands of God. He won’t drop me. And He has the net below if I freak out.
I know this one truth.⠀I can choose the truth of the Word.
It is finished!
It’s a set up. Because of Jesus…. we are wired, rigged, or destined to win.
⠀
I have heard the song Goodness of God by Bethel—Jenn Johnston…the past few days. Not by accident I’m sure…
⠀
Then this verse..”Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning…for I am trusting you.
⠀
Show me where to walk…for I GIVE MYSELF TO YOU… I leap from bar to bar, throwing my heart over the bar…throwing my heart into your Hand.
You can do this too!
