Going AWOL from social media?
Omigoooodness…that sounds terrrible.
Hey Theresa here…now I realize you may really not care if you hear from me or not.
But the shock (to me) of that statement to you, my dear e-family, brings a load of emotions.
Let me get to the point.
Many people, who I respect and even adore, have decided to go on a Social Media Fast…Going AWOL from posts and action online.
I have thought this over. Many times. After the social media rally the past few days for a baby to live (from the Bethel Redding family), I have come to a solid conclusion.
If I went on a social media fast, I’d be fasting from friends I consider very dear. I am not an island. I need my inner circle friends to be accountable to, to love me through the bumps and bruises, to dust away the dirt from the nuts and bolts of the issues in my life.
And to be very honest…. for a couple of friends, we found each other on social media! (They have become family in the truest sense….only God).
Don’t get me wrong. My passion is still to talk to Jesus more than do the Instagram Scroll.
