Anniversary Thoughts And The Word Of God
I used to dream of the perfect man I’d marry…

I even made a list of qualities I wanted while in college. My friend and I would meet Friday night in the laundry room, dateless but full of dreams to the noise of the washer and dryer.
We decided to pray for each other’s future husband….We called them “Q” men as a question…to God.
We would write out qualities and the foundation was a love for God, His Word, and for walking in intimate relationship.

Is it possible to find such a man?

After college we continued to pray for each other’s Q-man.
⠀
Psalm 37 became my verses later as the years went by waiting…waiting…for a true love to come…I’d go from sayings like..”I will be dating soon to I will be dating the right man!”
Verses would be underlined in my Bible amidst dreaming with God as I prayed for my future husband.“Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.”
Psalms 37:4-5 NKJV
I remember this one teaching in a singles’ class and this woman saying..”You will find your spouse in your quiet time with the Lord”
But oh how true that was.
There’s not enough space to share our story. It contains a story-line that seems like it’s from a movie. (We will write a book when the timing is right)
We had some people very skeptical about our marriage. I found out a few years later that Dave’s best man had doubted our marriage would even last a year.⠀
Well….we celebrated 24 years yesterday. Yes we had bumps and bruises along the way but the past 10 years have been that which dreams are made. You can “hear” this dream, that was exceedingly greater than I could have imagined, (Ephesians 3:20) in this week’s podcast as I feature Dave from one of our Friday Fireside Chats.

As I sat back in wonder to God of my love for Dave, I’d hear so many songs. But one stuck out.
”Strong Love” by the Newsboys strangely comes to my ears..

That common link is the power of our Risen Savior.

The ultimate strong love.
⠀
Love you Davey…God did exceedingly abundantly in being able to call you best friend, lover, with a “3-M Mission”: To love God with all our hearts…as we love others bringing glory and heaven to earth.
